At Fig Linens and Home, we provide concierge design services and custom bedding delivered to your doorstep. With our highly curated collection of luxury linens, we offer our clients unmatched quality from an endless selection of top-tier products. Our Story

Westport, a historical artists’ community located in coastal Connecticut, has always been known for its shopping. For years, the town had local furniture stores, family-owned delis, and mom-and-pop clothing stores, but no local linen shop. Luckily for Westport, in 2003, Carlin van Noppen set about changing that. Carlin is an entrepreneurial, creative, and quick-witted spirit with a fascination for textile design who had just moved to Connecticut. A linen boutique seemed the perfect next venture.

Thus, Fig Linens and Home was born.

At its inception, the brand was simply “Fig.” The original store was only 600 square feet in a shopping plaza at the bottom of Post Road. There was no space for storage, sales were tracked on paper, and we carried only a few lines. Despite the limited space and inventory, Fig was an instant Fairfield County hit.

By the end of 2004, it was time to expand. A vacancy in a historic spot at 66 Post Road East in the heart of downtown offered the perfect opportunity. The space was gorgeous, with hardwood floors, skylights, 20th-century tin ceilings, and most importantly, lots and lots of space. 

In our new location, Fig Linens expanded to include furniture, home decor, and a design center. The extra space provided room for our extensive collection of fabric samples and the massive shelves were soon filled with products from over 50 brands including Matouk, Frette, Sferra, Yves Delorme, Coyuchi, Peacock Alley, and DEA linens. Fig Linens and Home became a staple of downtown Westport. The store became known for its colorful and fashionable linens, extensive offerings, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Over the years, we’ve had seasonal pop-ups in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, and Rye, New York.

Some things have changed since 2003. For instance, today we ship to all 50 states and internationally through our user-friendly website, FigLinensandHome.com. We have streamlined a fast and easy checkout process so our clients can make purchases on iPads with our team members. Our popular blog now serves hundreds of clients a day searching for answers to bedding and linens-related questions.

However, the important things have remained the same. We are still proud to be a small woman-owned business catering to local clientele. Today, you can still find us at 7 Church Lane in Westport with Carlin at our helm. Our team is still made up of the brightest minds in the industry, tirelessly working to deliver the best results on your design project. We still work closely with top interior designers as well as house, estate, and yacht managers to provide the most beautiful linens and home decor. We still give back to the Westport community through frequent donations to and fundraisers for the Gillespie Center and the Mercy Learning Center. Throughout our twenty years in business serving notable business people, celebrities, and high-profile tastemakers, we have been recognized for our hard work again and again. We have been voted “The Best Linen Shop in Connecticut” in Moffly Media’s Best of the Gold Coast awards several years in a row. We were featured in a season six episode of HGTV’s “Dear Genevieve” with Genevieve Gorder's “Star Treatment Caboose.” Fig Linens and Home has been mentioned in industry and regional publications including House Beautiful, Veranda, The Spruce, CT Cottages and Gardens, and New England Home. Our CEO has been quoted in Real Simple, Better Homes and Gardens, and Bustle.
